Oman's share index ends lower marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower at 4,202.68 points by 0.80 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 581.64 points, down by 1.26 per cent. Al Jazeera Steel Productswas the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. There were no gainers on Sunday. Top loser of the day was SMN Power Holding which closed lower by 8.43 per cent.
A total number of 252 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR10.89 million with more than 39.39 million shares changing hands. Out of 44 traded stocks, 17 declined and 27 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net buyers for OMR96,000, followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR58,000 while Omani investors were net sellers for OMR154,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.40 per cent to at 6,769.80 points. There were no gainers on Sunday. Al Madina Investment, Bank Nizwa, Al Madina Takaful, Gulf Invest Services Holding and Muscat Finance were down by 3.13 per cent, 2.2 per cent, 2.17 per cent, 1.61 per cent and 1.16 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.26 per cent to close at 4,948.24 points. Galfar Engineering, Oman Flour Mills and Oman Cement were down by 1.27 per cent, 1.23 per cent and 0.34 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 1.11 per cent to close at 2,184.17 points. SMN Power Holding, Shell Oman Marketing, Omantel, Ooredoo and OIFC were down by 2.97 per cent, 2.33 per cent, 1.7 per cent, 0.38 per cent and 0.36 per cent respectively.
