One arrested for impersonating police, stealing gold and money

Muscat: One person has been arrested for impersonating a policeman and then stealing gold and money from two stores.
The Department of Criminal Investigations, led by the Muscat Governorate Police, arrested a defendant for impersonating a police officer and robbery.
A source in the Royal Oman Police said that the defendant "entered two shops pretending to be a police officer inspecting and searching for illegal chewing tobacco."
"The suspect only found a gold chain. He stole that, then headed to another shop. When the shop owner tried to stop him, they fought and threatened him. The suspect then stole OMR200 and escaped to an unknown destination," police added.
