Nearly 4,000 Omani jobseekers to attend interviews this week

Muscat: Oman’s Ministry of Manpower has called on 3,876 Omani jobseekers to attend interviews for 358 job vacancies in the private sector.
The move is part of the government’s initiative to increase Omanisation hiring rates in the private sector.
Some 58 companies have set up these jobs across six governorates, with interviews scheduled to be held from Sunday, January 20, to Wednesday, January 24. The interviews will take place in the Muscat, North and South Batinah, South Sharqiyah, Dakhiliyah and Buraimi Governorates.
Of these, 527 jobseekers will be interviewed on Monday, with statistics indicating that the Ministry of Manpower has registered 2,999 jobseekers from January 1 to 15, 2019. Of these, 1,096 are searching for jobs for the first time.
Some 630 jobseekers have general education diplomas, a further 1,008 have diploma equivalency certificates, and another 1,361 have qualifications below the diploma of general education.
Job opportunities
The Ministry of Manpower also stressed on the importance of the continued cooperation and coordination by private sector establishments in the various governorates and the need to provide job opportunities for citizens seeking work that is commensurate with their qualifications and competencies at different levels of education.
The ministry called on jobseekers to be committed to attend the job interviews and asked companies to remain committed to increase their proportion of Omanisation in order to provide jobs for citizens.
