50 workers arrested for violating labour laws in Oman

Muscat: A total of 50 workers were arrested by the Ministry of Manpower for violating labour laws, the Ministry has announced.

According to officials, the arrests took place in Muscat last week.

In a statement online officials said that the Ministry of Manpower, represented by the inspection team in Muscat carried out several inspection campaigns. The online statement read, “33 workers were arrested at the fruit and vegetable market while another 17 were arrested for cleaning cars in public areas.”

Necessary procedures are being taken against the accused and their sponsors.
