Internship opportunity for Omanis at British School Muscat

Muscat: British School Muscat (BSM) has set up a Classroom Assistant Internship Programme within the school. The aim of the programme is to provide training opportunities to Omani nationals, who are interested in a career in education. The programme received more than 120 applications for the first intake in September 2018. Applications are now flooding in for the second intake starting in March 2019. In this academic year, BSM will welcome 24 Omanis to their Classroom Assistant Internship Programme. Interns can join BSM for any one of the three, month-long programmes within their primary school. They are mentored by qualified teachers and buddied up with experienced Omani Classroom Assistants, whilst experiencing life in an international school. BSM Principal Kai Vacher said: “Interns who successfully complete the four-week training programme have the opportunity to apply for more permanent positions within the school. We were delighted to offer positions to three of our interns from the first intake in 2018. We are proud to be actively involved in developing the skills of our local workforce for the benefit of both BSM and our Omani community.”
