MUSCAT: Muhammed Owais struck three vital blows as Silkgate edged Design Group Engineering Consultants by 2 runs in a closely fought F Division game at Muscat Municipality ground.
Having scored 151 for 8 in 20 overs, Silkgate restricted Design Group to 149 for 7 in 20 overs thanks to a superb spell of bowling by Owais. Kaustubh Dargaoli was Silkgate’s topscrer with 31 off 27.

Wasco win
Jeason George’s brilliant all-round performance powered Wasco Orange to a 44-run win against Taurus XI in a G Division clash at Muscat Municipality ground 1.
Batting first, Wasco amassed 171 for 8 thanks to major contributions by Jeyakumar (42) and Jeason (38). Faras Ismail and Bori Amin bagged two wickets each.
Taurus started off well, reaching 73 for 2 in the 11th over but lost the way to be all out for 127 in 18.4 overs. Only Sameer Hussain batted with some authority to score 38. Samir Othman and Jeason claimed three and two wickets respectively.
Brief scores: Wasco Orange 171 for 8 in 20 overs (Jeyakumar 42 – 8x4, Jeason George 38 – 4x4. Faras Ismail 2-20, Bori Amin 2-26) defeated Taurus XI 127 all out in 18.4 overs (Sameer Hussain 38 – 2x4. Samir Othman 3-17, Jeason George 2-12) by 44 runs.
PSM beat ISWK
Muzahir Raza bowled a splendid 6-wicket spell and Mohammed Umair Aslam struck a fighting 44 not out to help Pakistan School Muscat (PSM) defeat Indian School Wadi Kabir (ISWK) by 2 wickets in a Junior League Under-19 clash at Oman Cricket’s turf ground 1 in Amerat on Tuesday.
Packed with Oman Under-19 stars, ISWK opted to bat first but found itself in deep trouble at 41 for 8 in the 15th over as Muzahir and his new-ball partner Obaidullah ran through their batting line-up. It was finally dismissed for a paltry 101 in the 26th over with Muzahir taking 6 for 29 and Obaid claiming 3 for 28. Amanpreet Singh Sirah topscored with 31 while Jeel Tanna managed 20.
PSM sank into deeper trouble after being reduced to 17 for 5 in 7 overs as pacer Yash Mehta sliced through its top and middle order. However, playing a lone hand Umair fought on to power his team to a nail-biting 2-wicket victory in 29 overs. His 51-ball essay included 5 fours and 2 sixes. Yash Mehta was quite impressive claiming 6 for 28.

Mustafa bowls BOC to win over ISD
Earlier on Saturday, Mustafa Zaidi picked up four wickets as Bowsher Olympic Center (BOC) beat Indian School Darsait (ISD) for a thrilling 4-run win in a high-scoring Junior League Under-19 match at Oman Cricket’s turf ground 2.
BOC posted a sizeable 285 on the board before being all out in the final over of its innings. Nooran Thakur (66), Rushil Dadwal (48) and Ali Zaidi (25) were its main scorers. Arjun Rajesh and Ashik Sony took two wickets each.
ISD was coasting at 199 for 3 in 32 overs before Mustafa Zaidi struck four quick blows to slow it down. ISD failed to recover fully and was dismissed for 281 in 50 overs, falling short by 4 runs. Rashid Ali Khan was its main scorer with 66 while Arjun Rajesh (56) and Moin Qureshi (32) batted well too. Mustafa claimed 4 for 47 in 8 overs.
