Muscat: The Oman Football Association (OFA) on Sunday announced a partnership with a new energy drinks partner that will see the OFA help launch the Effect brand across Oman, and Effect tie up with the Oman national team.

According to a statement issued by the Sultanate's football governing body, the OFA have signed a partnership with MBG Holdings, a company based in Germany that produces the energy drink 'Effect' – Germany’s No. 1 energy drink.

The Effect brand will now be linked to the Oman national team and the OFA will be working with Effect to bring the energy drink to the Omani population.

Nic Cartwright, Oman Football’s Commercial Director, was enthused about the new partnership. He said: “Effect is a very exciting product – a great taste - and they are a team that are very proactive who I am sure will work hard to make the product accessible to all of Oman.

"We have already agreed on some great ideas about how we will work together to achieve this – and I look forward to seeing these in action.”

Stephan Claus, Managing Director for the Effect Brand in the MENA region, is looking forward to working with the OFA.

"We know how popular football is in Oman, and we also know how hard the OFA work to drive football. I am confident this partnership will really help us to achieve the sales and growth we want for the Effect drinks.

“We pride ourselves on being the premium brand with an outstanding positioning in the soft drinks market with one-of-a-kind character – The mental energizer. Whatever the situation in our daily lives, more and more consumers are required to face the mental challenges of an increasingly complex world. Effect provides the energy for increased intellectual performance.”

Fans saw the Effect brand sampling at the recent Oman vs Iran and Oman vs India World Cup qualifying matches and will see Effect at all games moving forward as well as at select Omantel Professional League (OPL) games.

In addition to this, the OFA will be running a series of events across the year giving the Omani population the chance to interact with the Effect drinks and their team.

In celebrating the start of the Relationship, Effect are offering Omani fans the chance to win 50 Effect T- shirts with a six pack of Effect.
