Illegal carpentry workshop at house in Muscat raided

Muscat: Municipal authorities have fined a furniture company for using a house for furniture and carpentry work without a municipal licence.

During a field visit, the Department of Urban Inspection at the Directorate General of the Municipality of Muscat in Bausher "raided a residential house in Al Ghubra and found violations by a furniture company for running a carpentry workshop," said Muscat Municipality in a statement.

The company was also fined for "conducting commercial activity at home, which is contrary to the local order regulating the markets and the regulation of buildings in Muscat," the municipality added.
