Oman's share index ends higher marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher at 4,308.74 points by 0.11 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 597.29 points, up by 0.98 per cent. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles was the most active in terms of volume while Renaissance Services was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer was Raysut Cement which closed higher by 9.19 per cent while the top loser was SMN Power Holding which closed lower by 29.84 per cent.
A total number of 440 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.99 million with more than 9.98 million shares changing hands. Out of 39 traded stocks, 10 advanced, 10 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net buyers for OMR49,000, followed by Omani investors for OMR11,000 while GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR60,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.24 per cent to at 6,906.96 points. Bank Sohar, National Bank Of Oman, Muscat Finance and Bank Muscat were up by 2.5 per cent, 1.69 per cent, 1.19 per cent and 0.49 per cent respectively. Bank Dhofar, Al Anwar Holding and Oman Qatar Insurance were down by 1.84 per cent, 1.03 per cent and 0.87 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 1.08 per cent to close at 5,024.55 points. Raysut Cement, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, Gulf International Chemicals, and Oman Chlorine were up by 9.19 per cent, 3.85 per cent, 1.19 per cent and 0.67 per cent respectively. Oman Fisheries and Galfar Engineering were down by 1.67 per cent and 1.23 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.47 per cent to close at 2,248.47 points. Sembcorp Salalah and Phoenix Power were up by 1.16 per cent and one per cent respectively. SMN Power Holding, Renaissance Services, Al Jazeera Services and Omantel were down by 29.84 per cent, 4.86 per cent, 1.71 per cent and 1.64 per cent respectively.
