The ministry added that the eradication work on Saturday, in the state of Seeb took place in Hay Al Kharasis in north Al Hail, from Al Rawdha roundabout to Al Nakheel road, as well as Hail Al Awama.
The ministry and the municipality teams ran disinfection and eradication campaigns at Al Hail beach, and from Nakheel road to Al Bustan road in north Hail Al Awama, as well as parts of southern Hail Al Awama.
Field work
“On Saturday, the health, voluntary and all the supporting sectors continued their field work in the campaign for the eradication of the mosquito,” said a spokesman from the Ministry of Health.
If needed, safety teams will also visit people’s homes, should they find an environment that leads to the spread of dengue in the surrounding areas. The ministry added, “The team will provide proof regarding the contaminated area to the head of the household, if necessary.” The symptoms of dengue include headaches, fever, tiredness, skin rashes, muscle aches, joint pain and digestive system disorders.
Hilal bin Ahmed Al Sarmi, member of the Majlis Al Shura for Seeb, added, “The knights of the field work as part of the Muscat campaign to eradicate the Aedes aegypti mosquitoes have been at work since early morning, with sincerity and dedication. They are the lamps that illuminate our paths. I thank these faithful women and men from my heart. You have proven to the world that with determination, hopes are fulfilled and work is completed.”
