Muscat: Shihab Al Habsi, Oman's young racing champion, has won the UAE Formula 4 championship in Dubai.

In a video message Shihab said, "Thank god, I came first in the UAE Formula 4 championship. We as Omanis can become world champions in all fields whenever we have a chance to shine.”

Shihab, according to his father Ahmed, became the first Omani to join the French academy after his grand win in 2018.

Talking about it Shihab said, "Last year was good. This is my first win in 2019. Pray for me, I hope I can do the same again.”

The young champion, who has won various international karting championships, graduated to Formula 4 with last year’s French Formula 4 Championship.
