Oman's share index ends lower marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower by 0.03 per cent to close at 4,310.85 points. MSM Sharia Index closed at 590.15 points, down by 0.09 per cent. Bank Nizwa was the most active in terms of volume while Ominvest was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer was Oman Chlorine which closed higher by 3.45 per cent while the top loser was Al Madina Investment which closed lower by 5.41 per cent.
A total number of 223 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR510,000 with more than 3.55 million shares changing hands. Out of 30 traded stocks, 3 advanced, 11 declined and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR31,000, followed by Omani investors for OMR10,000 while foreign investors were net buyers for OMR41,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.03 per cent to at 6,845.17 points. Bank Nizwa was up by 1.12 per cent. Al Madina Investment, Gulf Invest Services Holding and Bank Dhofar were down by 5.41 per cent, 2.78 per cent and 0.62 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.37 per cent to close at 4,988.40 points. Oman Chlorine was up by 3.45 per cent. Oman Fisheries, Galfar Engineering, Oman Flour Mills and Oman Cement were down by 1.64 per cent, 1.23 per cent, 1.19 per cent and one per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.16 per cent to close at 2,272.75 points. OIFC was up by 1.2 per cent. Sohar Power, Acwa Power Barka, Al Batinah Power and Al Suwadi Power were down by 4.35 per cent, 2.78 per cent, one per cent and 0.99 per cent respectively.
