OOMC's ‘e-Fill’ smart service gains momentum

Muscat: Oman Oil Marketing Company (OOMC) recently organised a nation-wide campaign to promote and raise awareness on its pioneering "e-Fill" service for corporate customers in Suhar, Muscat and Salalah.
The first-of-its-kind in the Sultanate, the "e-Fill" service was introduced in May 2018 to enhance commercial fuel management at service stations using state-of-the-art technology. It utilises radio-frequency identification (RFID)-powered tags to ensure 100 per cent security, preventing fuel theft and unauthorised access to supplies.
The innovative sustainable system is paperless and automatic, removing human intervention at the pump. It is the first solution of smart fuelling, brought exclusively by Oman Oil Marketing Company. It operates by establishing a direct link between a customer’s head office and the service station via the RFID-powered tags attached to vehicles. All customers have to do is specify their fuelling needs before fuelling, following which radio signals are sent to the pump after authorisation is given.
“Providing convenient and innovative products remains one of our top priorities in our journey to offer customers what they need when they need it. We introduced ‘e-Fill’ to give our customers peace of mind knowing that they have chosen the most secure fuelling solution. The smart technology seamlessly delivers cost-effective control over fuelling operations,” Ali Muqaibal, General Manager of Strategy, Business Development, Marketing and Digital at Oman Oil Marketing Company, said.
To take advantage of the service, customers have to register for an account in order to receive a unique non-transferable tag, which is then attached to their vehicle. Accounts can be managed seamlessly on the company’s website, where tags can be blocked or unblocked and real-time information viewed.
