Ministry launches Graduate Survey 2019 in Oman

Muscat: Oman's Ministry of Higher Education has launched a new edition of its Graduate Survey.
The survey is conducted by the ministry to obtain systematic and reliable data on graduate employment, knowledge, skills, and competencies required by workplaces in the Sultanate.
A ministry official said, "The objective of the survey is to provide information about the employability of graduates in terms of duration, specialisation, salary, and methods of employment, evaluating the compatibility between knowledge, skills, competences in HEI and those required by their workplace."

"The survey providing feedback to HEIs in terms of improving academic programs, employability of graduates, competencies required in the labour market, and an overall understanding of the transition period between study and work, and providing guidelines to graduates/student/parents on the employability of graduates according to their fields of study and approximate range of salaries," the official added.
The 2017 Graduate Survey published the top ten companies in Oman that recruited graduates in 2016. Topping the list was Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (ORPIC), followed by Oman Air and Bank Muscat.
