Oman's Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries has clamped down on illegal fishing equipment being used in the Sultanate.

This was done after the inspection campaigns were carried out over the last two days.

They were carried out in South Al Shariqyah and South Al Batinah by the ministry's Fish Control Team and the Coast Guard Police.

"The fish control team at the ministry continues its efforts to monitor violations. In the previous two days, the team managed to seize unlicensed landing nets in both South Al Sharqiyah and South Al Batinah, with the support of the Coast Guard Police." - Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries
