Two unlicensed slaughterhouses fined in Oman

Muscat: Two unlicensed poultry slaughterhouses were fined in North Batinah governorate, while at least 10 illegal street vendors were arrested, municipal authorities have announced.
The slaughter houses were also fined for functioning in unsanitary conditions.
Authorities said, "As part of the efforts in the field of supervision and health inspection and in cooperation with the Joint inspection team in the North Batinah Governorate, the municipality of Suwaiq carried out a joint inspection campaign on unlicensed poultry slaughterhouses, where two unauthorised sites were fined for slaughtering poultry in unsanitary conditions."
Officials also added that ten illegal vendors were also arrested by Suwaiq Municipality for selling vegetables and barbecuing in public areas.
