Ministry offers lands for investment

Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) announced on Tuesday that it is offering three lands for investment and development. The investment shall be in the fields of tourism and real estate in vital locations in Muscat according to a long-term usufruct (land lease) agreement in coordination with the Tender Board.
Offering these lands for investment comes within the framework of the government's efforts to strengthen the partnership between public and private sectors to achieve the country's economic and developmental goals.
The first plot of land is located at Airport Heights Wilayat Al Seeb Oman International Exhibition Centre and covers an area of 1,27,224 square metres. The second plot is located in Al Khuwair, Wilayat of Bausher (14,588 square metres), and finally, the third plot is in Ghala Heights – Wilayat Bausher (13,267 square metres).
Investors interested in investing in these lands can obtain documents and terms and conditions of the tender by logging onto the e-tendering website https://etending.tenderboard.gov.om and downloading the pre-qualification document.
Initial studies were carried out in order to determine the nature of projects and their suitable components economically, developmentally, socially, and in terms of planning. The study also includes traffic and soil examination.
The building design of the project components of the three sites will be modern and innovative according to the standards of environment-friendly buildings (green buildings), and energy saving buildings, due to the use of solar panels and environment-friendly building materials. It is hoped to form a reference model for new buildings to be established in the Governorate of Muscat in particular and the Sultanate in general.
