Author in Oman fined OMR10,000 for plagiarism

Muscat: An author in Oman has been fined OMR10,000 on charges of plagiarism, the Public Prosecution has announced.

No information on the author or the book was made available. However, authorities said that the accused was fined under article 52 of the Copyright and Related Rights Act.

In a statement online officials said, “An author has been slapped with a fine of OMR10,000 for copyright infringement under article 52 of the Copyright and Related Rights Act.”
