Six arrested for drug trafficking, abuse in Oman

Six people were arrested in North Al Batinah by the Department of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances on Wednesday.

The people were arrested on charges of possession of psychotropic substances for the purpose of abuse and trafficking.

"In the first case, four defendants were arrested in the state of Sohar, carrying heroin pills and morphine, as well as several bottles of alcoholic beverages. In the second case, a quantity of methadone drug was seized from two suspects. All the accused were referred to the judicial authorities to complete the proceedings." - Royal Oman Police
