Oman's share index ends marginally lower

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower to close at 4408.20 points, down by 0.20 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 607.52 points, with no change. HSBC Bank was the most active in terms of volume while Ominvest was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was HSBC Bank, up by 1.68 per cent while the top loser was Construction Materials Ind. which closed lower by 14.29 per cent.
A total number of 309 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.15 million with more than 7.13 million shares changing hands. Out of 25 traded stocks, 3 advanced, 9 declined and 13 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR189,000, followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR52,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR241,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.05 per cent to at 6,878.90 points. HSBC Bank, Bank Dhofar and Bank Muscat were up by 1.68 per cent, 1.24 per cent and 0.47 per cent respectively. Ominvest and Bank Sohar were down 2.86 per cent and 0.86 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.07 per cent to close at 5,241.36 points. There were no gainers on Monday. Galfar Engineering was down by 1.1 per cent.
Services Index lost 0.64 per cent to close at 2,328.08 points. There were no gainers on Monday. Sembcorp Salalah, Phoenix Power, Omantel, Al Batinah Power and Al Jazeera Services were down 4.49 per cent, 0.99 per cent, 0.94 per cent, 0.92 per cent and 0.85 per cent respectively.
