Six in critical condition after consuming poisonous fish in Oman

Muscat: Six people are in critical condition after consuming poisonous puffer fish, the Ministry of Health has announced.
In an online statement, the ministry said, "The National Poison Control Centre of the Ministry of Health's Directorate General of Diseases Control and Surveillance responded to six critical cases with symptoms of acute poisoning due to consuming the poisonous puffer fish."
The ministry added that all six cases were admitted to the intensive care unit at a government hospital in Muscat.
The National Poison Control Centre has urged all to take necessary precautions and to ensure the fish they eat is suitable for human consumption.
