Vapours from Shinas mines not hazardous, says Public Authority for Mining

Shinas: The Public Authority for Mining (PAM) affirmed that the vapours coming out of one of the non-operational mines in the Wilayat of Shinas are not hazardous, according to the inspection and initial tests.

PAM maintains regular coordination with a team comprising representatives from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs, the company that was operating the mines, under the supervision of the Public Authority for Defence and Ambulance and the member of Majlis Al Shura for the wilayat of Shinas.
The team inspects the measures agreed upon, namely repairing the fence round the mine, flood the site with water and ensuring constant follow up of any developments at the site.
