25 shops closed for failing to meet health requirements

Muscat: Dhofar Municipality has shut down 25 shops in the Salalah Industrial Zone after an inspection campaign in the area.

According to an official statement, "Salalah Municipality, represented by the Department of Health Affairs, conducted inspection visits that resulted in the closing of 25 shops in Salalah Industrial Zone because they did not meet the requirements enforced." The authority added that "appropriate action" would be taken.

Clean up campaign

As part of the municipality's ongoing efforts to maintain hygiene and the general appearance of Salalah, a clean-up campaign in residential neighborhoods and public streets was also carried out by Dhofar Municipality.

The agency called on citizens, residents and visitors to throw waste in designated areas, and to cooperate with the Municipality in reporting health and hygiene violations by contacting the call centre on 1771.
