Oman youth technological project idea event to conclude on Saturday

Muscat: Inspired by the Royal Directives of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said that ‘Youth & Work’ should be on top of national priority and within the framework of the Royal Blessings for launching the National Youth Programme for Skills Development, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal bin Saud Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court will sponsor on Saturday the conclusion of the “Technology Ideas Race for Oman Youths’.
The event is the biggest gathering for Al Nashia Technological Project Ideas.
It is dedicated to the knowledge and skills presented at the National Youth Programme for Skills Development.
The event seeks to take 100 ideas to advanced stage that enable Omani youths to take them to the markets to serve the Omani society and support the national economy.
The event crowns an important stage of the youth path in the programme.
From among more than 700 participants, 600 Omani youths will be graduated at the first stage on Thursday December 13.
The graduates have presented good ideas that are worthy to be future emerging projects that can take part in the “Technology Ideas Race for Oman Youths.”
The graduates will compete among each other to qualify for the second stage of the programme during which they will receive intensified training followed by presentation of their ideas before a specialised committee and supported by Google.
The first stage of the youth path was implemented in cooperation with Udacity, one of the leading foundations in the field of virtual learning.
The efforts of 700 participants were crowned with success and they managed to get Nano grade, an international professional certificate that focuses on data science, software and digital marketing. These sciences are among the key required knowledge at the 4th industrial revolution.
It should be noted that the national programme for the development of youth skills will organise a press conference today about the Technology Ideas Race for Oman youths.
The press conference will be attended by Dr. Ali bin Qassim Jawad Al Lawati, Advisor of Studies and Researches at the Diwan of Royal Court and Head of the Programme, who will explain the details of the event and the expected outcomes which will meet the needs of the Sultanate and the private sector.
