Public Authority for Social Insurance processes over 14,000 end-of-service claims

Muscat: The Public Authority for Social Insurance (PASI) registered 14,645 end-of-service cases by the end of March 2018, according to new statistics released by the authority.
Figures show that more than 14,000 end-of-service claims were made in cases that included resignation, termination, disability, death, and transfer to another company.
The number of pensions disbursed as of March 2018 stood at 15,950.
Cases related to ageing represented 42.6 per cent of the pensions disbursed until the end of March 2018, followed by death for non-occupational reasons at 31.6 per cent. Non-occupational disability pensions came third with 19.2 per cent.
The occupational disability pensions and occupational death pensions represented 2.8 per cent and 3.8 per cent respectively.
The number of active employers registered with PASI until the end of March 2018 reached 16,723, with a total of 226,776 insurees registered with the Social Insurance System during the same period.
Number of cases of insurance benefits due to work-related injuries during 2018 until the end of March was 119, with road traffic accidents representing 36.1 per cent of that.
