SAF launches 'Atheer' project

Muscat: The Royal Army of Oman (RAO) on Monday launched the Tactical Communications Equipment System Project 'Atheer' for the Border Guard Brigade in the RAO, under the auspices of Brig Masoud bin Ali Al Hattali, commander of the Border Guard Brigade.

This is within the framework of the development and modernisation plans of telecommunications for the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF) and to facilitate the performance of the duties and practical tasks assigned to them efficiently and effectively.

One of the officers reviewed the programme, followed by a speech by the Commander of SAF Signal Corps in which he explained the stages and objectives of the project and the role of Signal Corps in the supervision of the project.

The representative of the company executing the project, in his speech, highlighted the extent to which the company's commitment to complete the project was on schedule, and the mechanism of the project. The audience was briefed on the 'Atheer' project, followed by a presentation on the advantages of the project's different devices and their high accuracy in performance and use.



The commander of Border Guard Brigade said in his speech that this project will contribute to the performance and functions of the Border Guard Brigade easily and effectively, thanks to the new technology. He thanked all those who contributed in activating and sustaining the project.
