Oman's Hoehler & Partner win award in New York

Muscat: Hoehler & Partner Architects and Engineers, a German-Omani joint venture, based in Muscat were awarded the 'Leadership in Architecture in Oman' award at the IAIR Awards held in New York.

The IAIR Awards are known to be one of the world's leading in terms of ranking and prizes for excellence in global economy and sustainability. The panel of judges comprise journalists from legal, financial and economic fields of interest in more than 120 countries.


Muhammad Sultan Al Salmy, managing director and partner of Hoehler & Partner said on this proud achievement, "We are honoured to be recognised by IAIR awards for excellence in sustainability on a global level. At Hoehler & Partner, we strive to go above and beyond usual standards with modern, sustainable designs that bridge traditional Omani architecture with contemporary and functional architecture.

On the firm emerging triumphant at the IAIR awards, one of the award representatives said, "By winning the Best Company for Leadership Architecture Award, Hoehler confirms itself as a key player in the sector with design solutions that not only fit the climatic conditions and the environment, but satisfy the needs of their clients. They effortlessly combine German architectural standards with traditional Omani elements to deliver excellent quality."

Hoehler & Partner are part of a number of emerging projects in Oman, such as the German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) which involved them in architectural design, supervision and project management.


Their other projects include the Museum of History of Islamic Science, the University of Buraimi (UoB), the Porsche Centre Muscat, the German Embassy in Muscat, the Audi Centre Muscat, along with many private residential projects. The services offered by Hoehler & Partner span architectural and interior design to project management and environmental planning.

Since the success of the GUtech campus, Hoehler & Partner has been growing at a rapid pace. The company has won various awards and certifications in the past. They have received recognition at MEED Quality Awards, Construction Week Awards in Oman and regionally, and many others. Additionally, Hoehler & Partner also recently received the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System Certification.

Hoehler & Partner Architects and Planners was set up 41 years year ago, and comprises five offices in Aachen, Hamburg and Frankfurt, in addition to Munich and Muscat. The firm consists of a dedicated design and management team that provides consultancy services to clients across the globe.
