Handball: Double delight for ISAS at CBSE Clusters National Handball Championship

MUSCAT: Indian School Al Seeb achieved another milestone in the sports arena when the handball team as well as coach Tony Thomas walked away with laurels at the CBSE Clusters National Handball Championship held in India from November 15 to 22.
The resilient Indian School Al Seeb team of 8 players emerged as the second runners up securing a bronze medal at this magnificent national level tournament.
The players came away with a slam, defeating Sri Bhawani Niketan Public School (Jaipur) with the score of (41-39) in the semifinals. The team had to face some tough opposition from Galaxy International School (Hisar), RMS High School (Jharkand), Ambuja Vidyapeeth, Rawan (Baroda) and Mayoor Private School (Abu Dhabi).
After two days of exciting play, ISAS was the first team to win a medal for CBSE Cluster games among all Indian Schools in Oman.
For the past five consecutive years, Indian School Al Seeb has sent a total of 12 teams in both boys and girls category for CBSC Nationals.
A special award was given to Tony Thomas, as the best coach for the progression level over the past years.
Showcasing their continuous patronage to sports, the president Moidu A K, the Sports Chairman, Dr. Mujeeb Hussain and the Principal, Leena Francis appreciated the students and the PE Master Tony Thomas for this spectacular feat.
