PIA Muscat-Lahore flights resume

Muscat: Pakistani nationals based in Muscat can now travel more frequently to Lahore, as Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has begun operations to the second most populous city in Pakistan, after Karachi.
PIA, the national flag carrier of Pakistan, that suspended its Muscat route over a year ago resumed operations on November 17, 2018, and will be flying twice a week.
“In pursuant to expand the network, PIA has decided to restore its Muscat and Sharjah routes, which remained suspended for over a year,” said Air Marshal Arshad Malik, President and Chief Executive Officer at PIA.
“The Lahore-Muscat flight began from November 17, operated by A320 aircraft. PIA will operate flights twice a week on Saturday and Sunday. With the introduction of these flights, PIA will have nine flights to Muscat from Peshawar, Turbat and Gwadar, besides Lahore,” Malik added.
Lahore, popularly known for its street food and rich cultural heritage, will now welcome flights from Muscat to Lahore every Saturday and Monday.
“After the restoration of PIA flights to Muscat-Lahore and Lahore-Muscat, the airline will be operating twice a week from both destinations. It will be taking off from Muscat every Saturday and Monday, and will be flying from Lahore to Muscat on Sunday and Monday,” said Ali Jaffar, Managing Partner at Shifa Travel and Tourism.
He added that the return ticket price starts from OMR125.
