Oman's Council of Ministers has endorsed the establishment of the One Stop Shop for Inspection by Risk Management System

Muscat: Oman's Council of Ministers has endorsed the establishment of the One Stop Shop for Inspection by Risk Management System in integration with Bayan system at all sea, air and land border posts.
This decision aimed to increase the volume of trade, reduce the costs and refresh import and export of the Sultanate. It also aimed to facilitate clearance of transactions, to create new business opportunities and to make the Sultanate's ports and border posts attractive to investments.
The ratification of establishment of the said One Stop Shop translates the Royal vision of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and directives of the government.
The Ministry of Transport and Communication said that through the said One Stop Shop, the government departments concerned with customs would be linked to Bayan system before end of December 2017.
ROP would supervise on engagement with the system and the One Stop Shop would operate effective from January 2018. The Council of Ministers also approved indicators for the performance of inspection and customs clearance.
According to such indicators, the maximum time for clearance and delivery of goods to importers at the sea border posts shall be 24 hours for 2017 and 10 hours for 2018, at the airports clearance and delivery of goods shall be 8 hours in 2017 and 4 hours in 2018 and at the land border posts shall be 3 hours in 2017 and 2 hours in 2018, maximum.
