1,000 volunteers clean up 59-km stretch of beach

Around 1,000 volunteers recently came together to clean up waste on a nearly 60 km-long stretch of beach in Oman.
The clean up took place at a beach in Al Ashkarah in Sourth Sharqiyah, with plastic and fishing nets among the trash that they picked up.
Citizens and expats of various age groups took part in the drive, covering a stretch of 59 km.
According to municipal authorities in South Sharqiyah Governorate, the campaign seeks to raise awareness on the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of the beaches.
