Muscat: A major part of the construction work for the 265-kilometre-long Batinah Expressway, which connects Muscat Expressway with the Oman-UAE border Khatmat Malaha, is expected to be completed by May, 2017. The eight-lane expressway will ease traffic between Muscat and Dubai border, Khatmat Malaha, besides reducing travel time between Muscat and the UAE border at least by an hour.

Construction work for the second package of 265-kilometre-long Batinah Expressway will be completed by May, 2017, said a top level official of the contracting firm.

The second package, part of the six main packages for building the carriageway, was awarded to Nagarjuna Construction Company International (NCCIL) for OMR143 million in October.
