Oman jumps four positions on UN Human Development Index

The Sultanate has achieved high levels in the Human Development Index for 2018, issued by the United Nations Development Programme.
The Sultanate advanced to the 48th position globally, rising four positions, compared to the previous year, out of 189 countries and fifth in the Arab and Gulf countries.
The country has been classified within the very high human development countries for the first time since its inclusion in the report.
It obtained 0.821 points in the index, which ranges from zero to 1, to enter the group of countries with very high human development (0.8 -1.0)
