100km walk into Sharqiyah sands for love of the desert

Muscat: With the participation of four Omani travellers covering over 100 kilometres of Sharqiyah sands, a convoy on camels will capture the beauty of Omani deserts.
On November 28, 2018, the convoy will begin its journey through the Sharqiyah sands accompanied by four Omani travellers who will meet tourists and desert lovers.
The convoy will run for four days until December 1, and cover more than 100km.

The initiative was launched by the Ministry of Tourism and “Al Hajan World” magazine.
Speaking about this drive, Ahmed Al Junaibi, editor-in-chief of the magazine and supervisor of the convoy, said, “This is the third trip, the first was launched in 2016 and the second in 2017. A wide range of people, from camel riders to campers will participate.”
The four Omani experienced backpackers are Mohammed Al Zadjali, Amer Al Wahibi, Ahmad Al Mahrouqi, and Hamoud Al Nahdi.
The convoy will be accompanied by an awareness programme on the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of the desert environment.
Participants will also learn the skill of riding camels and travelling in deserts.
