Muscat: The Board of Directors of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) held a meeting at the OCCI headquarters.
Chaired by Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Chairman of the Board, the meeting reviewed the witnessed by OCCI branches in all the governorates of the Sultanate and the specific activities that the branches undertook during the last period, which had a significant positive impact on the economic sectors in those governorates.

The meeting stressed the importance of exerting more efforts during the next stage to enhance the chamber’s contributions and the private sector in national action.
The meeting discussed the economic report prepared by the Chamber on the implementation of value added tax, the economic indicators the report contained, the tools of analysis, measurement of data and figures, the monitoring of all aspects and implications of the application of the tax on various economic and social sectors , the results of the report that recommend postponing the tax in order to enhance the role played by the private sector and to stimulate its contribution to the national economy.
