A total of 10 expats have been arrested in Muscat on charges of fraud, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) revealed.
Officials said the accused sent victims messages on their phones urging them to click on a link which allowed perpetrators to fraudulently obtain credit card details.
The arrests were made following an operation by the General Department of Criminal Investigation.
ROP also called on citizens and residents to protect themselves by ignoring any potentially malicious accounts, emails and phone calls they receive.
