Cricket: EY Oman lift Auditors Cup for fourth consecutive time

MUSCAT: EY Oman edged past KPMG to lift the Auditors Cricket Cup which was played during the weekend in Muscat.
Winning the toss KPMG put the opposition EY into bat restricting them to a modest total of 48 runs in their allotted 6 overs.
Requiring 47 runs to win EY’s bowlers held their nerves and bowled tight line to bowl out KPMG in 5.5 overs to lift the Cup. Pankaj Gupta from EY was declared man of the match in the finals.
In the first semifinal played between KPMG and HC Shah, saw KPMG win the match by 4 wickets and book their place in the final. Kaustubh was awarded the man of the match.
The second semifinal was played between EY and PwC.
Winning the toss and electing to field EY managed to restrict PwC to a total of 61 runs in the stipulated 6 overs
In reply, EY achieved their target comfortably with 9 balls to spare. The highlight of the match was 6 sixes in 6 balls by Omar Sarfraz of EY, who was declared Man of the Match and Man of the Tournament.
The tournament was well contested between seven audit firms – EY, PwC, Deloitte, KPMG, HC Shah, Ibn Hyan and Crowe.
On the sideline of the main tournament a women cricket match was held with HC Shah being declared the winners after defeating Crowe. HC Shah won the game by 6 runs.
During the award ceremony the auditors committee thanked the sponsors Hydrotec International LLC and Coca Cola for their support.
