Muscat: As part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW 2018) events which will kick off next week, the National Business Centre (NBC) will host Kuwaiti entrepreneur Dawood Marafie, who is recognised as one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the Arab world.
Marafie has successfully initiated a number of companies including Emtidad Company and Shiraa for Projects Management Company and is a founder of the Union of GCC Entrepreneurs and Association of Small and Medium Enterprises of Kuwait.
He is also a member of several committees in government bodies including the National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprise Development and Public Authority of Manpower.
A series of GEW Oman events will be held by NBC starting next Sunday at the Knowledge Oasis Muscat.
These events will facilitate the exchange of views and experiences among the owners of Small and Medium Enterprises.
A three-day Startup Weekend will also be held among these events, which will conclude with the selection of three most creative, viable and cost-effective ideas.
GEW aims at connecting experts and entrepreneurs across Oman and sectors to unleash their ideas and transform innovative ideas into reality. It also aspires to encourage entrepreneurs in Oman to be more visible and help them in their efforts towards launch and scale.
The National Business Centre was launched by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates at the Knowledge Oasis Muscat to offer promising Omani entrepreneurs a platform to develop their business ideas and advance them into growing ventures.
The centre provides a premier platform for Omani entrepreneurs by offering business development support and guidance, training and mentoring, access to markets and industry experts, and state-of-the-art and fully equipped office spaces, meeting rooms and presentation facilities.
