MEDC signs contracts to strengthen electricity network

Muscat: Muscat Electricity Distribution Company (MEDC), a member of Nama Group, signed a number of contracts worth up to OMR7.50 million at the company head office at Airport Heights.
The contracts were signed by the company representative, Eng. Alaa bin Hassan Mousa Al Lawati, Acting CEO, and the contractors represented by the CEOs of the companies that were awarded the tenders.
The signing of these contracts is in line with MEDC's continuous efforts to develop and operate safely and economically its electrical network in Muscat Governorate, in line with the requirements of comprehensive development in the fields of urban, economic and industrial development.
The first contract is for power supply to Madinat Al Nahda, Phase 11, at wilayat Al Amerat, for an amount of OMR1.75 million. This work was assigned to Manahel Middle East Trading & Contracting Co.
The second contract is for power supply to Madinat Al Nahda, Phase 14, at wilayat Al Amerat, for an amount OMR1.60 million and the work was assigned to Manahel Middle East Trading and Contracting Company.
The third contract is for power supply to Al Amerat Heights, Phase 8/1, at wilayat Al Amrat, for an amount of OMR1.10 million to Manahel Middle East Trading and Contracting Company.
The fourth contract was for power supply to Al Amerat Heights, Phase 4, at wilayat Al Amerat, for an amount of OMR590,000. This work was assigned to Al Falahi Company.
The fifth contract was for power supply to Al Amerat Heights, Phase 6, at wilayat Al Amerat, for an amount of OMR500,000. This work was assigned to Gal Engineering Services Company.
The sixth contract was for power supply to Madinat Al Nahda, Phase 12, at wilayat Al Amerat, for an amount of OMR1.10 million. The work was assigned to Al Majadeef Trading Company.
The seventh contract was for extending Al Awabi Main Power Station at an amount of OMR1.40 million. The work was assigned to Sharikah Fanniyah Omaniyah.
The implementation of these projects will contribute to the improvement of the company's performance in terms of speed in providing power supply to citizens. They will also contribute in raising the efficiency of the electricity distribution network. These contracts are part of the work package undertaken by the company to strengthen the electricity network in Muscat Governorate.
