ROP beefs up security in Salalah for Khareef Festival

Muscat: Thousands of Royal Oman Police (ROP) officers and members of different branches participated as the Support Force in the Salalah Tourism Khareef Festival 2017, according to a statement by the ROP.

The support force participating in securing the festival, consists of officers, non-commissioned officers and members of the different branches of the ROP and the General Authority for Civil Defense and Aid.
The force will be visible along the road extending from Al-Dhahirah Governorate to Dhofar Governorate and through Al-Wusta Governorate. They will also be deployed in Dhofar Governorate to regulate the movement of traffic and secure the sites of events and festivals.
Major-General Hamad Al Hattami, Assistant Inspector-General of Police and Customs, met with a number of leaders of the police formations force and urged them to exert more efforts in order to spread security and tranquility and provide the best services to visitors and residents, the ROP said.
