Hockey veteran SAS Naqvi presented with plaque

MUSCAT: In a rare and gracious gesture well known personality, Kavitha Ramakrishna visited the recently inaugurated SAS Naqvi Sports Museum on November 1, 2018.
During the occasion, Kavitha presented a unique art piece of Tanjore Art depicting an Omani Fort created especially for SAS Naqvi by her.
Tanjore Art is extraordinary form of visual amalgamation of both art and craft using fine gold leaf and colours which make the pictures come alive in a unique way. The shine and glean of the gold leaves used in Tanjore style paintings lasts forever.
A memento was presented by SAS Naqvi to Kavitha in appreciation of her contribution to arts, culture and literature. Kavitha’s works have been recognized by the Karnataka State Government and she has recently been conferred with a state award at a function in Bengaluru.
Kavitha was accompanied by G. V. Ramakrishna of Bank Muscat and her son Santrupth Vedanti, an accomplished musician. C.K. Somaiah former hockey star of Coorg XI was also present on the occasion. SAS Naqvi presented the visitors with mementoes.
