Sohar could soon be international hub: Aviation authority

Muscat: Two international airlines could soon start direct flights out of Sohar Airport, according to the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA).
A PACA statement online confirmed that it has issued approval for Air Arabia to fly directly from Sharjah to Sohar three times a week. the statement added: "Qatar Airways has also shown interest for international flights to Sohar Airport soon."
PACA will announce the dates for the international flights soon, the statement said.
Meanwhile SalamAir, Oman’s first budget airline, said that they will be flying three times per week from Salalah to Sohar from June 28, while increasing services to Muscat to 31 times a week.
