Japanese rocket lofts first UAE-made satellite

A Japanese rocket successfully put the first satellite into orbit that was made by the United Arab Emirates.

The H-2A rocket was launched from Tanegashima Island today by the Japanese space agency and Mitsubishi.

The UAE's KhalifaSat will be able to provide high-resolution images of the Earth.

The Khalifasat marks the next step for the UAE's space program, which is currently working on a mission to Mars.
