Muscat: Pakistan’s Ambassador Ali Javed, along with the full team of Officers of the Mission, participated in the Easter Service organized by the Urdu Language Chapter of the Church reserved for Pakistani Christian community in Muscat last Sunday.

The prayers were led by Reverend Zeresh Daniel, a Pakistani citizen, who had extended a special invitation to the Ambassador to participate in the Event.

While addressing the gathering of 500, the Ambassador, on behalf of Pakistani Leadership, extended felicitations to Pakistani Christian community across Oman on the occasion of Easter. He highlighted the depth & diversity of Pakistani culture and constitutional statutes guaranteeing freedom to worship to all faiths in Pakistan.

He praised the youth in projecting the soft power of Pakistan while making a special mention of Sheheryar Tariq John for recently securing position in ACCA across Oman. Sheheryar’s family was invited to the Embassy to receive Certificate of Appreciation.

There are 3,000 Pakistanis with Christian faith in Oman. The foundations for Protestant Church of Oman (PCO) was laid by Bishop of Lahore Thomas Valpy French, who, having shortly visited Oman in 1884, arrived in Muscat for his final missionary work on February 8th, 1891 and passed away 3 months later on 14th of May 1891.
