Course on rehabilitation of sports injuries organised

Muscat: The physiotherapy and rehabilitation of sports injuries course began on virtual platform yesterday and will continue until Thursday.
Organised by the Oman Olympic Academy, the course aims to spread correct scientific and practical knowledge for the development of sports culture among specialists for the treatment of injuries and to ensure the safety of athletes during training or while taking part in matches in local or international competitions.
Dr. Saif bin Saeed Al Riyami - Senior Physiotherapist at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, gave a lecture to 25 attendees from Oman Olympic Committee, Federations, Sports Committees and Military Sports.
The course includes many topics including joint movement mechanics, articular movement mechanics of the spine, the causes of the most famous sports injuries in the Sultanate, first aid for the serious injuries, and an explanation of the therapeutic rehabilitation programme, in addition to muscle, tendon and cartilage injuries, modern treatment methods in sports injuries, research and recent experiences in dealing with injuries.
