COVID-19: WHO chief Tedros Adhanom praises Pakistan for its efforts

Islamabad: Pakistan has been successfully handling the COVID-19 pandemic, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom said in the media briefing on COVID-19 held on 7th September 2020.

Adhanom has praised Pakistan for its efforts and has said that the world needs to learn from it.

"Pakistan deployed the infrastructure built up over many years for polio to combat COVID-19. Community health workers who have been trained to go door-to-door vaccinating children for polio have been utilized for surveillance, contact tracing and care," Adhanom said at the media briefing.
