Oman's share index ends marginally lower

Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,572.62 points, down 0.12 per cent from the previous close.
The Sharia Index ended down by 0.02 per cent at 521.48. Al Madina Investment, up 8.70 per cent was the top gainer while Renaissance Service, down 2.12 per cent, was the top loser. Oman & Emirates Investment was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded and Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 356 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR0.9 million, with more than 8.3 million shares changing hands. Out of 33 traded stocks, 4 advanced, 4 declined and 25 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR52,000 while local were net buyers for OMR29,000 followed by GCC & Arab for OMR23,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed by 0.06 per cent at, 5,700.03 points. Al Madina Investment and Oman & Emirates Investment were up by 8.70 per cent and 2.22 per cent respectively. Al Anwar Holding and Al Sharqia Investment were down by 1.43 per cent and 1.39 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 3,966.83 points, up 0.01 per cent. Oman Packaging and Raysut Cement were up by 3.57 per cent and 0.66 per cent respectively. Al Jazeera Steel was down by 1.06 per cent.
Services index was down 0.27 per cent before closing at 1,538.86 points. Renaissance Service and Ooredoo were down by 2.12 per cent and 0.50 per cent respectively.
