COVID-19 recovery rate in Oman now above 76 per cent

Muscat: More than 76 per cent of people who had tested positive for COVID-19 have successfully recovered from the disease, according to data from the Ministry of Health.
The ministry’s COVID-19 monitoring app, Tarassud, shows that the rate of recovery in the country is about 76.67 per cent.
Across the governorates, Muscat has posted 40,023 COVID-19 cases so far, of which 33,212 have recovered, pointing to a recovery rate of 82.9 per cent. The recovery rate in Wilayat Muttrah is the highest in the capital, at 89 per cent.
In North Batinah, where 13,070 cases and 8,336 recoveries have been reported, the recovery rate is about 63.7 per cent. In the region of South Batinah, which has reported 9,080 cases and 6,401 recoveries, the rate is slightly higher than 70 per cent.
The Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah has seen 4,703 cases of COVID-19 and 3,351 recoveries, showing a recovery rate of 71.25 per cent, while in Ad Dhahirah, it is about 69.7 per cent, owing to 1,733 cases and 1,208 recoveries.
South of the capital, in South Ash Sharqiyah, where 2,455 cases have been reported, alongside 2,085 recoveries, the recovery rate is quite high at 84.9 per cent, whereas in North Ash Sharqiyah, that rate stands at 67 per cent, with there being 2,099 cases and 1,412 recoveries.
Moving further south, in the central Al Wusta Governorate, which has seen 1,591 cases and 1,481 recoveries, the recovery rate is among the highest in the country, at 93 per cent. In the southern Dhofar Governorate, owing to 2,894 cases and 2,074 recoveries, that rate is 71 per cent.
In the country’s border region of Buraimi, which has only seen 864 cases and 638 recoveries, the rate stands at 76.5 per cent. The northern Governorate of Musandam, which has the lowest incidence of COVID-19 in the country at just 57 infections among people, of whom 42 have recovered, corresponding to a rate of recovery of 73.6 per cent.
