Three to five-star hotels record 53% decrease in guests

Muscat: The total number of guests at three to five-star hotels has declined in the first half of 2020 as compared to the same period in 2019.
A statement issued by Oman News Agency (ONA) said, "The total number of guests at three to five-star hotels during the first six months of 2020 has reached 409,940, with a decrease of 53 per cent compared to the same period in 2019."
"The National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI) indicates that there were 154,853 European guests by the end of June 2020, followed by Omani guests with 134,567, then Asian guests with 38,672."
"Revenue from three to five-star hotels in the Sultanate amounts to OMR56,110, 000 at the end of June 2020, while the occupancy rate reached 32 per cent," the statement added
