Al Buraimi gets its own FM radio station

Muscat: The Public Authority for Radio and Television (PART) on Tuesday announced the start of operation of radio FM transmission in the Governorate of Al Buraimi.
The new station relays Radio of Sultanate of Oman’s programmes to the governorate and it comes as part of expansion of Oman Radio’s network at high quality that is compatible with similar advanced radio broadcasts worldwide.
The new station transmits Oman Radio’s five frequencies, which are General Radio Programme (at 96.1 megahertz), Holy Quran (at 93.0 MHz), Al Shabab (at 106.5 MHz), English FM (at 104.2 MHz) and Classical Music (102.6 MHz).
The project has been designed and supervised by Omani cadres from PART to cover an area of 9,000 square metres.
The station consists of two halls, a set of offices and a transmission tower (115m high).
Its prominent position helps cover a large swathe in the governorate of Al Buraimi and adjoining areas.
It enables recipients to easily capture a better, clearer and high quality signal.
